January's Funding Round-Up has highlighted a few opportunities for schools and local community organisations. Read on and see if you or your community can benefit.


Applications for Round 3 of the Strategic School Improvement Fund are now open and will close at midday on Friday 20 April 2018.

BBC Children in Need

£10,000 – unlimited.  Grants are awarded each year to UK, not-for-profit organisations, including schools and community projects to support disadvantaged children and young people.

Lawn Tennis Association

Uncapped capital funding awarded to schools and partner organisations to create grassroots community tennis networks.  Closing date for applications 28th Feb, 2018.

The Rowing Foundation

£500-£3000 The Rowing Foundation had re-opened applications for grants to promote rowing for young people.

B&Q Community Re-Use Scheme

B&Q offers unsold products and materials to schools and local community organisations via its network of stores.

The Coalfields Community Investment Programme

Total fund - £500,000 Focused on tackling challenges in England’s coalfield communities.  Applications open 15th January, 2018.  Eligible projects should focus on improving Skills, Employment or Health.
